The Texas legislation that will create a new pathway to accounting licensure takes affect August 1, 2026. Now accounting candidates may earn their license by completing a bachelors degree with required coursework, finishing two years of work experience, and passing the Uniform CPA Examination. The Texas Society of CPA’s is hailing this as an advocacy win that will help expand and strengthen the profession.
